Sponge Pricing Update

Dear Customer,

We’re writing to give you advance notice of a 10% price increase across all Techno-Aide sponge products, effective June 8, 2026.

Why this is happening

The foam supply chain that feeds our positioning sponge production is under significant pressure from two simultaneous disruptions:

• The closure of the Strait of Hormuz since late February has cut Middle East naphtha flows, rerouted global shipping around the Cape of Good Hope, and driven polymer prices up 41–42%.
• A March fire at LyondellBasell’s Bayport Choate plant — the world’s largest PO/TBA production site — pulled additional capacity from an already tight U.S. market.

We’ve absorbed two rounds of supplier increases over the past several weeks. With more increases now confirmed and availability tightening, we can no longer hold current pricing.

What this means for you

• New pricing takes effect June 8, 2026, on all sponge SKUs — closed-cell, coated, non-coated, vinyl, and MRI.
• Any quote issued to your customers before June 8 will be honored through June 30, 2026.
• We are currently evaluating all other Techno-Aide products for a mid-year price adjustment, but the urgency of the sponge requires that we communicate this change now.

What we recommend

• Review your sponge inventory and reorder points this week.
• Place pre-increase POs by June 5 to lock in current pricing.
• Talk to high-volume customers about Q3 needs now.
• Consider steering customers toward closed-cell and Stealth Cote products. They outlast open-cell equivalents by 3–5x, which insulates end users from future supply shocks.
